A Rosy Moment for Cosmetics

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

Spring is near… well sort of!  We’ve seen plenty of skin and beauty trends over the past year; lavender had its chance to shine, as did the multi-purpose coconut oil and all of the products infused with this magical substance.

Almost 100 million roses are grown for Valentine’s Day each year, but it’s hard to say how many roses are grown to create the rose infused beauty products that have been appearing on shelves lately.  If you’re willing to dive in to this growing trend, this list of rose infused beauty products can give you some ideas on where to start:

Gourmand EDP Macaron Rose’ Fragrance

This sweet smelling perfume requires two pumps tops, and it lasts all day.  If floral smells are your thing, this light spray is a must have.  For $18 at Urban Outfitters it’s hard to beat, since few things there are under $20!

Fresh Rose Face Mask

This infamous facemask has changed so many lives, including mine.  It can be worn for as long as you’d like and I’d recommend sleeping in it.  It has a gel consistency that dries clear on your skin so wearing outside of the comfort of your room is no problem.  Did I mention the real rose petals mixed in with the mask?

Herbivore Rose Face Mist

Water quality can vary throughout the United States, which could explain the funky breaks that you may have when you travel from home to school.  It would be a dream to be able to only wash your face in only rose water, but until that day you can try the rose face mist by Herbivore.  It’s great to spray on before bed for a splash of extra moisture.

Sephora Rose Eye Mask

The skin under our eyes is the thinnest and most sensitive skin on our bodies.  It can be damaged easily, especially when we try to cover up our dark circles with layers of makeup.  The Sephora Rose Eye Mask runs for only $5, and turns out real results.

Vaseline Rosy Lip Therapy

Tasteless and colorless Vaseline gets pretty boring, especially when you have chapped lips every other week.  The Rosy Vaseline Lip Therapy adds a pretty pink tint, rose oil, almond oil, and a fresh rosy smell to their classic formula to create this genius lip balm.  It’s great for days that you want to skip on the lipstick and blends well into almost any shade of lipstick or liner.
