This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

Who? Pittsburgh Fashion Week is What? featuring the Fashion Rocks runway show at the downtown Macy’s as they Wear? this season’s top trends!

Pittsburgh Fashion Week kicked off last Monday in Downtown Pittsburgh. On Day 3 of PFW on Wednesday, September 24th, the Fashion Rocks runway show at Macy’s featured on-trend styles of Macy’s partnering designers, as well as previews of featured student designers from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Among the four trends including, My Mystique with subdued floral prints, My Blues with all blue everything ranging from hues of indigo to electric cobalt, and Clean & Tailored with polished classic silhouettes, the most favorable was My Cool Edge. This trend will definitely compliant all those fierce fashionistas on campuses spanning across the country! Let’s take a look at this fall favorite!

The My Cool Edge collection featured all of this year’s fall favorites: fux leather, distressed denim, light knits and eye-catching accessories! Look one of the My Cool Edge trend featured an I.N.C. black leather moto jacket that is great for the fall weather. A Big Buddha burgundy studded oversize handbag was also featured which would be essential for all those stylish collegiettes who cannot leave their dorms without a statement bag. My personal favorite piece of this was the BCBG Generation black zipper wedge bootie because I know I’m not the only one who takes no shame in wearing my favorite heels to class or around campus (hands up for my 5’4’’ and shorter fashionistas)!

Look two of the My Cool Edge trend featured a Kensie cream draped vest –who doesn’t love a comfy vest that looks good with everything! This easy-to-throw-on piece was paired with Denim & Supply classic wash boyfriend jeans which is every stylish collegiette’s closet staple!  BCBG Generation is definitely taking the game with their fall and winter proof footwear; their lace-up studded bootie went so well with this look adding just the right hint of edge. Every collegiette can spice up their favorite fall and winter outfits with similar items mentioned here and they can be found affordably in stores including Forever21, H&M, Banana Republic, Nordstorm’s Rack, and of course, Macy’s!

This year’s crowd of the Fashion Rocks runway show at Macy’s decided which of the many featured looks to add to their closets this season while sipping tasty mocktails and eating hors d’oeuvres all thanks to the founder and executive director of Pittsburgh Fashion Week, Miyoshi Anderson.
