Every September the NOCC hosts a walk/run to raise awareness and support for Ovarian Cancer.

The event is full of awesome vendors including Eat ‘N Park, stands for dog owners, a kids table and games, and many more! There are also stands from local women’s health establishments like Magee-Women’s Hospital of UPMC to help participants start on a track toward healthy lifestyles. Participants are more than welcome to bring their furry friends and walk/run to raise awareness!

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and we all need to do our part to make sure that this horrible disease claims less lives every year! Keep an eye out for yourself and your friends & family and always keep up with your routine OBGYN appointments. Watch out for and don’t ignore the following symptoms:

  • Bloating
  • Pelvic, abdominal, and/or back pain
  • Feeling the need to urinate urgently or often
  • Trouble eating for feeling full quickly
  • Fatigue
  • Upset stomach or heartburn
  • Pain during sex
  • Constipation or menstrual changes
