Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to drop all of your paycheck earnings to be fashionable; it’s so easy to look your best and dress for less! So many websites have great deals that you don’t even know about yet (for example, TOBI.com has an offer that your first purchase is 50% off just for creating an account!) This is just one of the many ways to have a fabulous wardrobe without needing to spend hundreds of dollars. The five most essential ways to save money on your clothes if you are on a budget are as follows:

1. RetailMeNot: go to the app store and download the free RetailMeNot app. When you enter a shopping vicinity, it will automatically tell you all of the deals in the area… awesome, right?! This can earn you up to 80% off your purchase, and there are always great deals for online codes as well.

2. Get the Sunday paper: a little old school, but the paper has amazing deals, especially on Sundays! Not only can you find physical coupons, but it always gives you some great passes for stores that can be used more than once.

3. Go thrifting: this is a great way to shop, and a lot of stores have awesome finds that you can transform into something even more amazing. Sometimes you’ll even find designer names if you go to the right thrift store! Red, White, and Blue and Goodwill are just some of the great thrift stores in the Pittsburgh area (which you can learn all about here).

4. Turn old items into new ones: this doesn’t take any sense of artistic or sewing ability, so don’t panic if you aren’t crafty. Sometimes all an old shirt needs is a V-neck cut or some fringe at the bottom. A lot of stores like Urban Outfitters are even taking old high-waisted shorts and turning them into cool, one-of-a-kind items!

5. Google search: even if you’re just looking for a random code to save on shipping and handling prices, Google is the place to go. Online shopping is a necessity to collegiette life (especially if your school isn’t conveniently located near a mall), so there’s always some type of code you can find to take your grand total down. Besides RetailMeNot.com, there’s a ton of other websites to use if you search hard enough!
