On Thursday, November 7th Stage AE welcomed the Fall 2014 Honda Civic Tour. This round of the Honda Civic Tour featured three extremely talented bands with an indie/folk appeal and a lot of energy!

The night started out strong with a Brooklyn indie/folk/pop duo called Oh Honey. The frontmen of the band are vocalist and guitar player Mitchie Collins and vocalist Danielle Bouchard. They have a very sweet and melodic sounds completely with perfect harmonies. If you are a fan of Of Monsters and Men, Oh Honey will be music to your ears (pun totally intended)!

Next up was the summertime-folky big band from Los Angeles, The Mowgli’s. With seven band members, (Colin Louis Dieden – vocals/guitar/percussion, Katie Jayne Earl – vocals/percussion, Matthew Di Panni- bass/vocals, Josh Hogan- guitar/vocals, Dave Appelbaum- keys/vocals, Spencer Trent – guitar/vocals, and Andy Warren – drums/percussion/vocals), these guys really set the stage for a great night! (Their single, ‘San Francisco,’ was my song of the summer!)
After everyone broke out their dance moves for The Mowgli’s, we were ready for the headliner to take the stage by storm! American Authors opened with their hit ‘Home’ and the crowd was pumped from the very first note.
They played a set stocked full of their 2014 album, Oh What A Life, including ‘Believer’ and of course, their anthem of the year, ‘Best Day of My Life.’ This Brooklyn band started playing music together in college and collectively decided to dedicate their lives to writing amazing tunes and performing for adoring fans. These handsome guys, Zac Barnett – lead vocals & guitar, James Adam Shelley – banjo & lead guitar, Dave Rublin – bass, and Matt Sanchez on the drums, were definitely made to be musicians.
Even while their frontman, Zac, was battling a terrible case of food poisoning (he had to take a few break throughout the set), the put on one heck of a show! This was definitely one for the books!
