One of the sweetest people to walk the Point Park campus is freshman Gillian Belich. Gillian’s quirky personality could put a smile on anyone’s face. She’s a broadcast major from Hopewell, Pennsylvania. While Gillian isn’t studying, writing for the Globe, or reporting on U-view, she enjoys watching Bridezillas, listening to rap and hanging out with her friends. Gillian shines in any room she’s in, with her bright, bubbly personality and her contagious laugh.
HC: What is it like reporting for U-View?
GB: It’s so much fun and really gives me a real world experience. At first I was skeptical about my major but doing U-View made me realize it’s what I’m meant to do.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
GB: Working for E! News in LA, driving a pink Mercedes with leopard print seats with my name embroidered in them. Living in a condo with two dogs and lots of clothes.
HC: What is your dream job?
GB: Working for E! News!
HC: What challenges have you faced your first semester of college?
GB: The whole college transition and class work load. I can’t mess around like I did in high school.
HC: How do you manage school, writing for The Globe, homework, U-View, and still have free time?
GB: I don’t know, honestly. I just do it. I make sure I get all my homework done during the week so I can have free time during the weekends.
HC: What’s a fun fact about you?
GB: I can look at someone and create a whole story all about them just by looking. I also talk in my sleep.
HC: What do you want to have accomplished by the time you graduate Point Park?
GB: I want to have completed an internship and make the deans list. I would like to just have a great experience.
HC: Who is your biggest motivator?
GB: Probably my dad and my cousin Leah. They always motivate me to be better.
