Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc Review

Is that a man with a chainsaw for a head? Get ready everyone, because Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc is a newer release that is a must watch for anime fans. The movie was originally released on Sept. 19, 2025 in Japan and on Oct. 24, 2025 in western theaters. I’m a year late to watching this movie, but the wait was definitely worth it.

Packed full of action, comedy, and romance this is a movie you won’t want to miss. Similar to the show, the movie is full of bright colors and beautiful animation. As a fan of the series myself I thought that this was a great addition to the Chainsaw Man series. The movie has the same humor and action that drew fans into the manga and the anime.

Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc immediately follows the events of Chainsaw Man season one. Many beloved characters like Denji, Aki, and Angel Devil return. New characters show up as well.

The fight between devils and devil hunters continues as Denji navigates the confusing world of romantic relationships. Denji gets a reprieve from his chaotic job when he meets a mysterious girl named Reze. Friendship blossoms between the two- maybe those feelings start turning into something more.

While Denji gets a chance to experience a taste of normal teenage life, devil hunters Aki and Angel Devil are partnered up. Together the duo is on the hunt for rogue devils who are looking to hurt Denji.

But not everything is as perfect as it seems. In the shadows, a dangerous plot among devils is brewing. Too focused on his feelings, Denji misses just how much danger his life is in. Can he thwart the devils’ plot and is his new friend all that she seems to be? For that answer, you’ll have to find out for yourself.

Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and produced by MAPPA Studios, the movie features beautiful animation and music. The film mixes elements of comedy, dark fantasy, and horror. This movie was a great expansion to the anime and was truly a great adaptation from the manga. Overall, Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc is full of action with a surprising beautiful romance subplot.

If you want to watch Chainsaw Man yourself the show is available on Crunchyroll, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Disney+. The movie is available on Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV.
