What do you love most about being a musical theatre major here at Point Park?:Â “I love the family I’ve built already here. I’ve never felt closer or more safe with a group of people in my life besides my family back at home. We see each other grow and change and everyone is there for you if you do fall sometimes, because let’s face it in this business it’s inevitable that will happen A LOT! That goes for the faculty too. You really feel that they care about you and I think that’s where this program sets itself apart from the rest.”
What was the best part of being in the “21” cast?: Â “Being cast in 21 was a whirlwind. There were so many callbacks that you just came to a point where you couldn’t be nervous anymore and just had to say “screw it” and give everything you’ve got. But I’d have to say finally getting up on my feet and putting this year and a half of training up on its feet was super exciting. I felt different, and my family could see it too, so that was awesome. Also, meeting director/choreographer Richard Sabellico was pretty stellar. The amount of stories he had of the glory days of Broadway were so informative that you had no choice but to be a sponge and soak up as much as you could in the 8 weeks with him.”
