Sunday, February 7th was an important day for anyone who is a Beyoncé fan. Yes, it was the Superbowl, but that is not what was important.

Once again the queen of the Beyhive graced us with her presence at halftime. Now, Rewind to the day before, Mrs. Knowles-Carter punched us all in the face with a surprise release of her new single “Formation.” The song touches base on some touchy subjects that have been in the media.

She acknowledges pretty much why she loves being black, covering topics such as police brutality and Hurricane Katrina. My favorite part of the video? The little boy dancing in front of the cops wearing a black hoodie, resembling Trayvon Martin, gave me chills.

Not only did she release a single, SHE PERFORMED IT THE DAY AFTER AT THE SUPERBOWL! We knew that she and Coldplay would be performing but I was absolutely stunned when Bruno Mars appeared.

Now, most people thought that her performance was outstanding. But, the Queen got a lot of backlash for the show. People were not too happy about her speaking out on things that were deemed “political.” People bashed her for having all black dancers and ensemble (LOL). If any of you are true Beyoncé fans you would know that Beyoncé has ALWAYS had a band, as well as dancers, that were African American women.

After her super Superbowl performance, the superstar released her 2016 world tour dates just seconds after. She’s a hero, I’m telling you. And the best news of all…… SHE’S COMING TO PITTSBURGH! Finally! Beyoncé fans rejoice! She will be gracing Heinz Field May 31st, 2016 and I will be there. My prediction is that sometime soon she will be releasing a new album. Clap it up Bey Fans! We have a lot to look forward to this year!
