The Best & Worst Dressed of the AMAs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

The American Music Awards are known for their memorable looks, and we were not disappointed this year. So who ruled the carpet and who disappointed? Read on to find out!

BEST: Carrie Underwood shown in this shimmery champagne dress. She looked flawless!

WORST: Is it too late now to say sorry for this look? Justin missed the mark with this jeans and t-shirt combo, looking way too casual for this event.

BEST: This black sheer dress hugs Ciara’s figure perfectly. She dominated the carpet!

WORST: Kendall and Kylie usually look amazing at awards shows, but these looks did not work. Kendall’s cowlneck dress did not flatter her, while Kylie’s dress was just a mess.

BEST: Selena Gomez looked absolutely stunning in this red halter dress. Simple makeup and minimal accessories let the dress speak for itself.

WORST: We’re not sure what Tove Lo was thinking when wearing this dress. The cage looking dress did not work, especially with the nude undergarments and knee high boots.

BEST: Shawn Mendes kept it simple, yet stylish.

WORST: Ellie’s dress clashed with her heels and was a little too short. On top of that her slicked back hair did not complement the outfit at all. This was a miss from head to toe.

BEST: Zendaya looked amazing in this floral pink lace mini dress. We absolutely love this soft look on her, especially paired with that bright makeup!

WORST: “The Voice” judge’s hair and makeup looked great, but her dress did not. From the voluminous top to the sheer bottom, Gwen Stefani leaves us feeling a bit confused.

BEST: Demi took us back to the roaring 20’s in this beautiful printed gown. She topped it off with perfect finger waves and dark makeup, giving us a gorgeous old Hollywood look.

WORST: What is Z Lala wearing??? This should have stayed in the ocean where it belongs.

BEST: The boys of One Direction looked extremely dapper in their varying suits. We are obsessed with Harry’s floral Gucci suit, and Niall looks adorable in his new specks!
