Mattel is finally coming around! On September 26th Barbie released a new doll… but not just any doll. They honored actress, singer, and dancer Zendaya Coleman with her very own doll and the resemblance is pretty uncanny. The doll is wearing her gown from the 2015 Oscars and get this….. SHE IS ROCKING HER FAUX LOCKS! You go Mattel!

For those of you who don’t know, E!’s Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic faced what was possibly the WORST critical backlash for making an offensive statement towards Zendaya’s iconic look. The star said, “The hair to me on her is making her a little more boho. Like I feel like she smells like patchouli oil. Or weed.” Bye Felicia! Zendaya took to Twitter and wrote the classiest response to Rancic.

This only made America love her more. So, Mattel decided to honor the 19 year old with her own doll, thanking her for “Raising her voice.”

I think that Zendaya is truly a fantastic role model for young girls. She exudes such poise and grace but is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. I don’t think Mattel could’ve picked a better candidate for this project. Zendaya has such a bright future ahead of her and I am so excited to purchase a doll that will be serving realness, hunty.
