Are You The One? Season 2: Our Match-Up Predictions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

If reality television is your guilty pleasure, hopefully you’ve been keeping up with the second season of MTV’s “most ambitious dating experiment ever attempted,” Are You The One?. The show puts 10 single women through an extensive matchmaking process to find 10 single guys who are their “perfect match,” and throws all 20 of them to live together in Puerto Rico to figure out who is whose match. If they’re able to all correctly choose who their perfect matches are over 10 weeks, they split an enormous cash prize of one million dollars. To sum it up, each episode has a challenge where the winning couples get to go on dates, and the house votes one of these pairs into the Truth Booth- the only way to confirm whether or not they are, in fact, a match! There’s also a weekly match-up ceremony that allows the house to choose who they think is their match, and beams of light will show how many couples are correctly matched, but not who those matches are. Sounds crazy right?

Meet Christina, this season’s 11th girl

To make this season even more twisted, one of the men is a match with one of the 10 women, plus an 11th girl thrown into the mix! Whichever girl in this double-match finds her guy first stays in the other house and a shot at love & money, while the other girl gets sent home with neither.

The three confirmed Perfect Matches so far: Paris & Pratt, Shelby & Curtis, and Jenni & John.

After 8 weeks, the house has 3 confirmed perfect matches and has never had more than 6 beams of light at a ceremony, making us question whether or not they’ll be able to solve the perfect match mystery in time! But through process of elimination and keeping a possible match-up spreadsheet, Her Campus thinks we’ve figured out who the 10 correct pairs are:

Jasmine & Alex

Alexandria & Anthony

Briana & Brandon

Ashley & Dario

Jessica & Garland

Ellie & Nathan

Tyler & Layton

But who could the double-match with Christina be?! Check out the 9th episode tonight on MTV at 10pm EST to find out if the house is one step closer to love and money, or if they’ll backtrack once again. Be sure to catch the show’s live tweets @AREUTHE1 and tell us if you agree with our predictions @HCPointPark!
