Valentine’s Day can be rough for single folks… here are some tips on what NOT to do on a single Valentine’s Day.
1. Request off work when you have no plans. It’s tempting to request off so you can stay in, eat popcorn, and possibly have it end up just like every other night in. If you know your co-workers have a significant other, it’s best to let them have their fun this year. Your time will come soon.
2. Buy ANY candy before the 15th. CVS’s red aisles of candy can be tempting but you must control yourself for the sale of all sales. That box of Ferrero Roche chocolates tastes a lot better when it’s 50% off and you have three of them. 3. Contact that long lost ex. We have ex’s because we needed them to EXIT out of our lives. If you haven’t talked in last few months, reaching out to them will either result in an extremely awkward convo or the rekindle of an old flame that is not meant to burn.
4. Attempt an at home wax. When it comes to any waxing of the body (other than the face) leave it to the professionals. That clearance Sally Hanson microwavable wax and bottle of wine with the roomie might seem like an awesome idea, but when your bathroom is covered in purple goop you’re going to have a lot of questions to answer.
5. Beat yourself up over not having a date. It can suck being dateless on the day dedicated to love but it’s always good to remember that things won’t always be this way. It’s easy to feel bad for yourself because you’re missing out on some loving but there is some love that you can give and that’s to yourself! People will come and go out of your life fast, but you will always be there. Get comfy, put on your favorite mix and let the good vibes flow.
