New books to look out for!
If you’re anything like me, you spent all your free time this summer reading and trying to finish your never-ending TBR (to be read) list. Although I should be reading the books I already have, let me fill you in on the new releases I am eagerly waiting for.
- A Court of Splintered Harmony by Sarah J. Maas (Oct 27, 2026): The sixth book of the beloved A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series. According to Bloomsbury Publishing, ‘The main plot of the book follows the Night Court as they scramble to rebuild fractured alliances and confront the creeping, ancient shadow of Koschei the Deathless, who is stirring from his millennium-long imprisonment to target the human lands’.
- The Witch by Freida McFadden (October 6th, 2026): If you’re into thrillers, then Freida McFadden is your girl. Her books offer nail-biting mysteries and crazy plot twists. According to Sourcebooks, “After losing both her career and her home, Julia Barlow retreats to her family’s massive 17th-century Massachusetts manor, Pemberton. On the surface, she’s returning to care for her elderly grandmother, but she’s secretly looking for a place to fade away from her troubles. However, the estate has other plans, and it starts to break her down. Each night, the clock freezes at 3:41 a.m., the power fluctuates, and a haunting voice pleads for help from the hallway. While investigating the manor’s sinister origins, Julia finds a connection to a woman condemned for witchcraft in 1692. - The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig (September 1st, 2026): The newly released and anticipated sequel to The Knight and the Moth follows Sybil Delling’s journey in the Stonewater Kingdom. According to Goodreads, “A mysterious knave rises to the top of the lists, a man with no name and no memory who may just be Sybil’s ticket to undoing Benji’s power. For in a land where stories repeat themselves, where a king can prove as cruel as a god, the only way to truly destroy the Stonewater Kingdom’s faith is to save it.”
- Hollow Bones by Jodi Picoult (Sept 15, 2026): You might be familiar with Jodi Picoult, as she is the author of the bestseller My Sister’s Keeper. Her new release follows the story of Molly Fitzgerald. According to Goodreads, “Moving between past and present, Hollow Bones is an epic story of the lies we tell ourselves as we write the narratives of our lives, the plans we design to protect ourselves at the worst moments, and the ties that bind mothers and daughters.”
- The Sixth Faction by Veronica Roth (October 6, 2026): This is the first book in a duology set in an alternate universe of the beloved Divergent series. According to Divergent Wiki, “Unlike a sequel, prequel, or spin-off, The Sixth Faction is described as an alternate-universe reimagining in which Beatrice Prior makes a different choice at the Choosing Ceremony. According to Roth, the project revisits the original series from a new perspective and explores how events unfold when the protagonist’s path changes.”
I hope that by reading about these new and upcoming releases, you can get a head start on the pre-released series in order to be ready for these new books. Reading doesn’t have to be a chore; it can actually be fun and immersive.
