I’m going to be honest and say that I’m obsessed with Wordle (I know, I know). I have even built a whole routine surrounding Wordle and all of the other little games I play. I mean, Wordle is even all over my TikTok! If I miss a Wordle game or one of my other alternatives to Wordle, my day feels incomplete. However, I know that Wordle can get boring, so if you’re looking for alternatives or just some new games to play, I’ve got you covered! Here’s my list of Wordle alternatives that you should try out!

Heardle

Heardle has got to be one of my favorites out of all the different alternatives. Maybe I’m biased because I love listening to music, but it’s just so much fun trying to figure out a song in only 16 seconds! With Heardle, I’m also able to learn about how a song actually starts or even find new music in general! Just like Wordle, your goal of the game is to guess the song in the quickest amount of time. To start, you get a one second snippet of a song, and from that snippet you have to guess the song of the day. Each new guess means a little bit longer of a snippet that you can hear. The longest clip that you can hear from the song is only 16 seconds, so hopefully you know your stuff! You can visit Heardle here.

Worldle

For this one, be sure to add the L or you’ll end up back at Wordle! Worldle allows you to enhance your geography skills or maybe even show off your knowledge of geography! While I love Worldle, I usually end up not getting the correct country, but I get to learn more about different countries! Just like Wordle, in this game, you get six guesses and a picture of a country, geographically, and it’s up to you to see if you can find the right country! Check out Worldle here!

NyT Mini Crossword

This is a must in my routine when it comes to getting in my daily Wordle games. The New York Times offers a few different games, but their Mini Crossword is the one that’s free! If you want to test your speed and knowledge, then this is the alternative for you! With the Mini Crossword, I try to get the crossword in the quickest amount of time possible. Like Wordle, you can compare your time with your friends and family to see who solves the crossword the quickest! Check it out here!

Poeltl

If you’re like me, and are into sports, especially the NBA, then this is the game for you! Poeltl is a guessing game where players have to try to figure out the right NBA player. Your first guest is random most of the time, unless you look at the silhouette of the player given to you through silhouette mode. After your initial guess, the game will tell you details, such as if the player has previously played for the team, is playing for them now or if they’ve never played for them. The game also gives hints about what conference and division the player is in, accompanied by other information like their number, age, height and position. Most of the time, I end up looking through different line-ups to figure out the player, but sometimes I get lucky and select the right player in less than eight guesses. If you like the NBA or just want to try out your NBA knowledge, I would definitely give this alternative a try! You can find it here!

hello Wordl

This game is essentially just another game of Worlde, but you can control how long the word can be! Ranging all the way from a four letter word to an eleven letter word, this game gives you the choice of the level of difficulty you want. With this, I usually pick longer words. However, most of the time when I choose 11 letters, I end up giving up and having the website tell me what the word is. If you wanna give yourself a challenge, I would definitely check this one out! Beware though, if you’re anything like me, you might get yourself stressed out trying to figure out so many different 11 letter words. Check it out here!

Framed

Framed is another rendition of Wordle, but instead of trying to figure out the word of the day, your goal is to guess the correct movie! You start off the game with a singular image/frame from a movie, and with that image, you have to try to figure out what the movie of the day is! With each guess, you get another image from the movie, for a total of 6 images if you have your final guess left. If you’re a movie extraordinaire or just want to test your movie knowledge, try this one out here!

Wordle has become the new trend. Once you’ve done it for the day, you might find yourself counting down the hours until the next one comes out. Hopefully, with this list, you can add some of these alternatives to your day-to-day routine and have some fun! Good luck!
