Sophomore Pitt students Tyler Yonchiuk and Pat Ramsey kept energy high at the Cultures Clothing Fashion Show on Saturday night. Their DJing skills helped to make the show an overwhelming success. Read on to learn more about these DJs:

Her Campus (HC): Tyler, how did you become interested in DJing?
Tyler: I have always liked electronic music. Freshman year I played football for Pitt, but I lost the love for it and decided to give it up. I began looking for a new hobby and came across DJing. I thought it was fun and did some research about six months ago. I put money together and was able to buy equipment that is a little better than entry-level equipment. Now I do house parties.

HC: Tyler, what is your favorite type of music?
Tyler: My favorite type is house music. I like trance and mash-up kind of stuff. Not everyone listens to electronic, but most people kind of know mash-ups.

HC: Tyler, what do you plan to do in the future? Will it involve music?
Tyler: I like DJing. But it is expensive and doesn’t really pay for itself. I am putting money away for software and I plan to eventually produce my own stuff.

HC: Pat, how did you get involved?
Pat: Tyler and I were random roommates freshman year. I assist him and help with genres that he doesn’t know. I was born a DJ. Actually, I became interested when Tyler started messing around with it. We both liked the same kind of music and I learned everything with Tyler.
