Unfortunately with Market Central it’s too often hit or miss—deliciously satisfying or just plain gross. The meal options listed below have their bad days, just fewer bad days than the rest. Here I have compiled the top five Market options based off of interviews with students on meal-plans, my personal preferences, and the amount of people in line at any given time.

1. Stir Fry, a.k.a Good ‘Ole Faithful

The stir fry station at 360 never fails. Although there is always a huge line, the cooks are quick and efficient. While you wait on your food you can grab a drink or a side dish from elsewhere. My personal favorite is adding General Tso sauce to my stir-fry. It tastes like real Chinese food…almost.

2. Magellan’s

As the world explorer it’s named after, Magellan’s offers various dishes from around the globe. Every day, they feature meals from a different culture. Some crowd favorites include the nacho bar and the French fry bar.

3. Omelets at Five Star Dining

This is the first station you see when heading into market—right between the French fries and hamburgers. Although most stations close after 8PM (like Magellan’s), the omelet station stays open much later. Have an omelet for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a late night snack!

4. Sandwich Station at Basic Kneads

My personal go-to Market meal. There are so many options and combinations, so you can always switch it up a bit. Just like the stir-fry, while you’re waiting in line you can go grab a bowl of soup or chips as a side dish.

5. The Dessert Station

The newest (and best) addition Pitt could have made to Mark Central—except for supplying fresh products. Not only does it comprise your standard cookies, brownies, and pies, now it features soft serve ice cream! Although I don’t recommend this as the only thing you eat for a meal, a cookie or swirl of ice cream with sprinkles to top off your meal is a great treat.
