Spring 2018 Fashion Trends & How to Actually Wear Them

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

Search Spring 2018 fashion trends & you will get endless posts of models (legit ones from the runway, not just gorgeous bloggers) wearing outrageous outfits you would never wear in public. For things to get from the catwalk to H&M, it takes time, but, it is possible to be ahead of the curve! Here are Spring trends you will see in the upcoming months && how you can style them NOW to make them wearable in public —

Bright Pink

If your outfit makes you think of something Elle Woods would wear, you *might* be overdoing it a little. Add a pop of color to your Spring wardrobe with a bright pink purse or rain boots!

Fanny Packs

Hear the words “fanny pack” and your mind immediately goes to obnoxious patterns of fabric on someone from the 90s. The good news? Not all fanny packs are hideous! Ditch your purse this Spring and put on a fanny pack instead!

Dresses on Shirts

This style could be a great option for when you want to wear a dress with thin straps and want to cover up, but don’t want to put on a sweater! Simply pair any thin strap dress with a t-shirt and you’re good to go. You can start wearing this trend early in the Spring by pairing the dress with a long-sleeved shirt.

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are definitely on trend even now, but they sometimes are too formal to wear to anything besides a party or dinner. If you want to rock the jumpsuit look while looking more casual, look for plain designs and fabrics such as cotton.

Strappy Heels

The best part of strappy heels is you can adjust the straps/ties to fit perfectly around your ankles!

Sequins

We aren’t talking Claire’s circa 2001 here, but instead, subtle glitter-esce sequins. You can pair a sequin top with jeans for a casual look ready for day or night!

Fringe

Do you know what’s fun? Spinning around in a skirt with fringe. Fringe is the perfect way to add texture to a skirt or jacket while looking funny and playful.
