Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week wrapped up Thursday, February 16th after presenting a wide array of talented and unique designers. Everyone from Charlotte Ronson to Tommy Hilfiger, Diane Von Furstenberg to Betsey Johnson, premiered their fall looks in front of large audiences consisting of the world’s most fashionable people. I’ve compiled some of my favorite looks from this week along with some ways to recreate them!

You may remember Whitney Port from the popular MTV television shows The Hills and The City. Actually, let’s get real– most of us definitely remember her and watched her shows as part of our guilty pleasures. Now, Whitney has made a name for herself in the fashion world as a talented designer of her clothing line, Whitney Eve. Her fall line featured beautiful velvety fabrics in autumn blue, brown, and orange colors. She also incorporated festive sequins and shimmer into a lot of her looks. One of my favorites is a fun look for a night out with friends or a fancier dinner date. The simple top with great detailing and the sparkling shorts are finished with subtle polka dot tights and simple black shoes. If you’re daring enough, try the bold orange-red lipstick that is definitely a popular trend right now. To recreate this outfit, try this awesome metallic skirt from Nasty Gal with this cuffed sleeve top from Forever 21. Finally, Net-a-Porter has the perfect pair of polka dot tights to finish off the look.
In my opinion, Michael Kors really outdid himself at this year’s Fashion Week and showed one of my top favorite collections overall. The collection starts with dark, leather and fur pieces until the collection transitions into a chic, plaid, red, lacey, line. Finally, he concludes with stunning, shimmering gowns that could turn any woman into a Hollywood movie star. For more looks along the way, check out this Michael Kors slideshow. One of my favorite looks is this turtleneck romper with matching socks and brown boots. It undeniably accentuates this model’s infinitely long legs and juxtaposes their bareness with a warm, plaid sweater that nearly touches the mid-calf. To get this look, try this sexy red playsuit from Asos with this oversized Ecote Camp Cardigan from Urban Outfitters. Finally, wear these Urban Outfitters red knee socks that are strikingly similar to the Michael Kors socks on the runway. However, to achieve the plaid, romper look in one shot, you could choose to wear a romper like this checked one from Asos.
Finally, Rebecca Taylor’s romantic, sexy, and sheer top paired with black leggings and a sleek jacket with zipper detail definitely created an eye-catching ensemble. Looking at it, I find myself drawn to the sheerness of the top underneath this prominent jacket with a folded collar. I’ve recreated this look using some simple pieces in unexpected ways. First, throw on this Forever 21Sequined Patterned Top underneath this elegant, sheer blouse from Nasty Gal. This way, sequins, emulating the look from Rebecca Taylor’s runway, accompany the sheerness of the blouse. On the bottom, wear these wet-look leggings from Topshop and finish with this On Point Linen Jacket from Nasty Gal with a look-alike collar to Rebecca Taylor’s.
