This week, HC Pitt had the chance to talk to Defensive Lineman Khaynin Mosley-Smith (KK for short) as he prepares for his last homecoming this weekend. Read on to learn more about KK, from his gameday preparation to his favorite restaurant in Oakland. We have it all covered!
Name: Khaynin Mosley-Smith
Nickname: KK
Year: Senior
Major: Administration of Justice/Legal Studies
Hometown: Pittsburgh
Position on Football Team: Defensive Line
Her Campus: What made you decide to play football at the University of Pittsburgh?
KK: Because I feel like this is where I’m from, I wouldn’t want to play for another city.
Her Campus: What do you like to do in your spare time?
KK: I love to spend time with my family. I also like to shop!
Her Campus: With the Homecoming game coming up next weekend, how do you prepare before such a big game?
KK: We prepare mentally! But this week is special of course because it’s Homecoming, so we need everyone there. The whole PantherPitt needs to be there!
Her Campus: With graduation coming up on us quicker than we’d like, what are your plans after graduation?
KK: After graduation I plan to continue to play football!
Her Campus: How has it been working with Head Coach Pat Narduzzi? How has it impacted the team dynamic?
KK: It’s been a great opportunity to work with coach! He’s a great guy. He has a huge impact on and off the field with each individual on the team.
Her Campus: What do you see as the biggest challenge for this season?
KK: Our biggest challenge this season is ourselves. We can’t get to high or too low. We have to work through adversity as well.
Her Campus: What is the most memorable game you’ve played in?
KK: The most memorable game I have played in was vs. Miami last season, but there is way to many memorable games to pick just one.
Her Campus: What song gets you pumped up before the game? Any pre-game rituals?
KK: For songs, “Blow a Bag” by Future. For my ritual, I thank the man above.
Her Campus: Last but not least, since everyone loves food, what’s your favorite place to grab a bite on campus?
KK: I’d have to say my favorite place to eat is Chipotle!
Good luck this weekend to KK and all of the Pitt Panthers! Bring one home for us. H2P!
