HC Pitt talks Pitt in Six: Our Chapter’s Members’ Six Word Memoirs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

Recently I stumbled upon an article that pertained to Six Word Memoirs. After researching further, I learned the idea of Six Word Memoirs stems from Smith Magazine, which is a publication that wants to provide storytelling, especially in the form of six words. The writers at Her Campus Pitt gave it a try.

Madison Shaftic: I am more than my illness.

Jess Crawford: Home is where my peace is.

Lydia Schwartz: Holy cow, my mom was right.

Maggie Brookes: Can I get guac with that?

Elaine Khodzhayan: Have the courage of your convictions. (Julia Child)

Fredrika Unander-Scharin: I am not ready to leave.

Casey Schmauder: Thanking God for really good friends.

Sarah Filiault: Become better than you are now.

Bekah Jean: My dad would be so disappointed.  Dad, can I please have money?  I spent my money on booze.

Hannah Ayars: You’re my light in the darkness.  I wish I felt less empty.

Jessie Iacullo (AKA @hungrygrl_bigcity on Instagram):  She believes and so she does.  I love food more than sex. (Hungry Girl)

Taylor Simmons:  Every journey begins with one step.  Can we meet up for bagels?  No, I don’t have a boyfriend.

Maria Pane: I will have strength through weakness.

Ariel Berkowitz: Things aren’t always what they seem. Not looking back, only moving forward.

Lauren Fabrizio: I thought college would be different.

Katie Piscopio: Permanent fatty food + blow money mood.

Cat McNulty: It’s over before you know it.

Katie Osborne: It’s okay to ask for help.

Lauren Nace: I cry when I spill wine.

Lexi Nasonti: Why is the coffee always gone?

Mariah Celeste: I’m worth more than I think.  Save someone even if it’s yourself.

Danielle Rauch: Please don’t ask about my future.

Lexi Surunis: I put hot sauce on everything.

Azeen Athar: I don’t know what I’m doing.

Katie Miliken: Keep up, I’m not slowing down.

Jian Manganti: I’m trying to do my best.

Abby Stubenbort: Mom, how do I do this???

Hannah Fox: I fall when I’m standing still.

Megan Baksi: I am only here for bagels.
