What do you get when you cross a crop top and a t-shirt bra, with a little bit of sports bra? If you guessed a bralette, then you would be correct. The bralette is a trend that has taken girls across the world by storm. Instead of having your regular bra show through a shirt, or be visible while wearing a dress, a bralette is the way to go. Bralettes are the more acceptable way to show a little bit of lingerie, and they come in an endless array of designs and colors. No matter what your bra size is, there is a bralette out there for everyone. Trust me, if I can rock them, so can you!

If you have a smaller bust, look for a bralette that offers a unique design over a lot of support. My friends with smaller chests always claim that bralettes will make their chests look even smaller. Um, I would have to disagree! A bralette, especially one that has a unique design (like this one from Urban Outfitters) accentuates what you have. The criss-cross design also adds a little bit of edge to your outfit. Like Beyonce says, “If you got it, flaunt it.”

If you’re not sure whether you want more support or something that’s not so basic, why not have both? There are plenty of bralettes that offer a substantial amount of support, all while adding a pop of color underneath your fabulous outfit. Aritzia makes bralets (they’re fancy and say bralet) that come in a variety of colors. The skyway color adds a girly pop to any outfit, whether it’s paired with a plain muscle tee with jeans or under a chiffon shirt for a night out.

For all my fellow busty girls out there, don’t stress: it is totally possible to be able to wear a bralette without feeling too exposed. Recently, I picked up this bralette in navy blue from American Apparel. The clasps in the back make it feel like a real bra, all while creating a greater sense of security for your chest. I like to wear an actual (usually strapless) bra underneath my bralettes, and this particular style allows me to do so. It’s currently on super sale, so get one (or two, or three) before they sell out!

Would you believe me if I told you that there was a universal bralette that would be perfect for any girl, small or large chested? Well, if you believe in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, then get ready to be amazed. Free People, a brand known for their lacey intimates, sells a variety of bralettes, from strapless to halter. One bralette in particular should be found in every and any bralette lover’s closet: the lace razorback bralette. The thick straps allow for a substantial amount of support, and the razorback design can work with razor back shirts or by adding diversity to a plain white tank. I own one in black and can easily get away with wearing a bra underneath. The color selection is endless, which makes you want to buy them all!
