Dave Marshall is this week’s Campus Cutie. He is an outgoing senior with a great smile. His laid-back nature and tendency to bake makes him a great catch for any lady.
Name: Dave Marshall

What do you like best about Pitt? I love all of the ethnic food places – Spice Island Tea House, Alli Babas, etc.
What do you hope to do when you graduate? I want to go to grad school or pursue a career in software engineering.
What’s your favorite movie? Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It is not necessarily for everybody, but it’s a good movie overall.
What do you like to do for fun? I like to cook and love trying new foods. I like playing chess and card games and such with friends.
What would be your perfect day?
To wake up and go for a run. Then get black coffee and head to Schenley Plaza to read and do a little people watching while enjoying the sunshine. Then I would get lunch with a friend or two. After lunch I’d play some pick-up soccer. Then I’d like to cook dinner and have a few friends over. After dinner I’d be up to doing lots of things, either watch a good movie, good TV show, or read a book.
Best gifts you’ve ever gotten from a girl?
One time I got red converses and another time a chess set. Both were really great.
What do you look for in a girl?
Someone who is a great spades partner. I’m looking for a good spades partner, but I like to play hearts, too. She can’t be dumb or play dumb. I’d like someone who is active and likes to do new things. It would also be great if she had a dishwasher at her house. She has to at least tolerate my sense of humor. I would also enjoy a girl I can just sit and talk with while I do laundry.
What are your turn-offs?
She cannot have an obnoxious voice/laugh. Girls who are super insecure and don’t let me hang out with my friends. Talking during movies; even during the previews. Emotional instability. I don’t want to date a robot; I want someone with emotions, but a good balance.
What is your favorite thing to do on a date?
I will fly her to Paris and cook her the best meal I have ever made. Then we will swim across the English Channel together. Actually, we’d just get frozen yogurt and go for a walk.
What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Funny, grounded, genuine
What is a piece of advice you could offer the ladies?
“Ladies have unrealistic expectations for guys to complete. Women should first be satisfied with who they are as individuals and then be celebrated for their character.”
