Before I entered college I worried about too many things that I now know are extremely different than what I was expecting.

Expectation: Going to a party

Reality: Going to a party

(It’s gross; there are too many smelly people. Just make your appearance and dip out fast.)

Expectation: People finding out you are  “inexperienced”

Reality: People finding out you are “inexperienced”

(Literally, no one cares.)

Expectation: Telling your friends you want to stay in

Reality: Telling your friends you want to stay in

(They are going out whether you like it or not, and chances are, they already peaced out.)

Expectation: Dressing in PJs for class

Reality: Dressing in PJS for class

(Do it and rock it while you still can you fabulous human)

Expectation: Trying a different hairstyle

Reality: Trying a different hairstyle

(You fab, own it.)

Expectation: Arriving to class late

Reality: Arriving to class late

(Seriously, those 5 minutes of sleep were needed)

Expectation: Thinking everyone realizes every little thing about you

Reality: Realizing College is the time to do you and rock it

Seriously, lighten up. College is the time to be you so don’t worry about what others think and do you.

I have been a proud Her Campus writer since my freshman year at Pitt and I am now the Social Media Editor for the chapter. So excited to see where the chapter will go but sadly I am a senior graduating in 2015 with a Communication and Art History major and Film Studies minor.
