Whether you’re single or happily coupled up, there’s no better way to prepare yourself for the Valentine’s Day season than by viewing some fabulously improbable rom-coms! Love may truly be a battlefield at times, but in these films, all’s well that ends well, and who isn’t encouraged by that? Read on for our top 7 picks of the rom-coms you need to watch this February, or whenever you need to believe in love again.

Clueless

We love a nostalgic ‘90s classic, and this one checks all the boxes: plaid miniskirts, knee-high socks and a young Paul Rudd. Just don’t think too hard about how the two romantic lead characters are step-siblings, and you’re sure to have a great time!

10 Things I Hate About You

Nothing is more relatable than main character Kat’s angry girl music, dog-eared feminist literature and her inability to resist Heath Ledger as he tries to woo her. Based on the Shakespeare play, The Taming of the Shrew, this love story will have you laughing, crying and bopping along to an amazing soundtrack.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Truly the best of all the Noah Centineo rom-coms, this flick tells the inspiring story of an embarrassing situation (what’s worse in high school than your crush finding out you like them?!) that blossoms into an unexpected romance.

Someone Great

Sometimes you don’t need romance to tell a good love story, and that is certainly true for this chick flick! Starring Gina Rodriguez, Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise as the trio of girlfriends who will make you want to call all your best friends and tell them how much you love them.  This girl-power movie is perfect for a Galentine’s night in or a reminder that love takes many different forms.

The Other Woman

After three women realize they’re all being cheated on by the same guy, they band together to make his life miserable. This comedic yet emotional star-studded film is another one that’s all about women supporting women and learning the way you deserve to be treated.

How to Be Single

If you’re obsessed with Rebel Wilson like we are, you’ll want to watch this movie just because she’s one of the main characters.  Following several different storylines, this movie is all about navigating love after college.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

10 days. Matthew McConaughey is on a mission to get Kate Hudson to fall for him, while she has the opposite goal: to push him away in the same amount of time. The two form an unlikely pair while both are oblivious to the other’s intentions. It’s a funny story of what can happen in just 10 short days.
