Want to listen to music while studying? Go ahead! Studies show that music actually helps boost your memory and keeps you focused. Don’t want to have to make your own playlists? That’s fine too! Websites like Pandora and 8tracks have millions of playlists available for your listening pleasure, no matter the type of music you want to listen to.

Here are some of my favorite study playlists from 8tracks:

1) 99 songs to make your homework awesome (By evansmusic)Featuring songs by Two Door Cinema Club, Alt-J, The xx, and Death Cab for Cutie, this playlist is great if you want current indie music to study to. All the songs are mellow enough to keep you focused.

2) 100 Songs Later… (By lamusette)This playlist includes lots of classical pieces from famous (and not-so-famous) movies. You’ll probably recognize music from Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean, Forrest Gump, and Finding Nemo, among others.

3) Top of the Class (By victoriaq)If you want classical music, but think it’s too dreary for you to stay awake to, listen to this playlist—it’s got uplifting instrumental pieces to keep your energy up while you study.

4) Study focus fine-tuning (By ellakaie)Want ambient music, classical pieces, and indie music in one playlist? Look no further! This playlist contains some great relaxing tunes to keep you concentrating on your work.

5) Handy Homework Help (By Kerry_)This playlist has a good mix of chill alternative music from Adele to Andrew Bird to help you get your homework done.

Some highlights to 8tracks: 1) You do not need an account to access playlists. 2) It’s free! 3) Ads aren’t super annoying! They occur every once in a while, but they don’t pop up between every song, which is nice. 4) You can make your own playlists and publish them really easily.

Good luck on finals!

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am one of the new Campus Correspondents for HC Pitt and am absolutely loving it! Helping others with advice about their articles and getting to read amazing stories has been so rewarding. I love writing about topics that make people's days just a little cheerier! Her Campus has been a wonderful experience for me over the past four years. I get to work with an amazing team every day and could not be more grateful. As a senior, looking back from where I started with Her Campus, I see how much it's changed me and all of the great friends I've made from it too. Saying HC is one of the best things that has happened to me during my college career would be an understatement! I really love how much it has grown and how much others have benefitted from their experience with our organization. HCXO <3
