As nerve-racking as interviews can be, they’re an important opportunity to connect with potential employers and show them who you are beyond what’s written on your resume. Of course you want to be prepared to answer questions, but it’s also essential to ask some, too. By asking questions, you demonstrate that you are genuinely interested in the position and that you have taken the time to think critically about the company. So, without further ado, here are some questions you can ask in your next interview!  

How would you describe the company culture?

Interviews aren’t just about the company getting to know you — they’re also about you getting to know the company. If you’re going to be spending a significant amount of time with a group of people, you’ll want to make sure they’re a good fit. The way your interviewer describes their workplace can tell you a lot about whether or not you’ll enjoy working there.

This question not only gives you insight into the company culture, but it can also help you get to know your interviewer personally. Building a rapport with your interviewer is an important part of the hiring process, and it will also be helpful to have a friendly face on your first day.
