With three locations in Pittsburgh, and one located inside the University store on campus, Millie’s ice cream is definitely the ice cream to get in Pittsburgh. Millie’s originated as former chef Chad Townsend was looking for a career change. Buying an expensive Paco-Jet machine that can turn almost anything into ice cream, Chad and his wife started producing homemade ice cream right from their kitchen. Eventually, they were able to expand and that was how Millie’s came to be. Today, Millie’s serves the greater Pittsburgh area with flavors ranging from cookie dough to mango.
