Thoughts you have while perusing through fall 2015 runway shows likely go a little something like this: “Unflattering culottes? Superhero-like capes? Will real people actually wear this stuff???” (Don’t even know what culottes are? See the wide-leg capris pictured below.)

Filtering through fashion week’s trends can be intimidating. And let’s face it. We’re not all blessed with the model-esque features like that of Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner who fearlessly open fashion shows in the most risqué silhouettes. So how are us mere mortals supposed to make runway transition to real life? Don’t worry, I’ve done the hard work for you. Here are affordable versions of the twelve most wearable trends inspired by fall 2015 collections, organized into four encompassing categories: ‘70s revival, cool outerwear, edgy footwear, and button-up A-line skirts.

‘70s Revival: The groovy fashions of the ‘70s have made a comeback this fall in the chicest way yet. Think flared pants, lace up peasant tops, suede, and fringe. If you’re a fan of bohemian style, this trend will be especially easy to incorporate into you’re current wardrobe as it definitely has that easy breezy free-spirited vibe.

Lace-up top: Nasty Gal $58.00

This is a versatile piece that can go from day to night depending on how you style it.  The combination of the lace-up detail and bell sleeves make it on-point for this trend.

Fringe jacket: Forever 21, $54.90

Kill three trends with one stone with this ‘70s inspired piece. Fringe? Check. Suede? Check. Camel toned? You got it. These three characteristics equal one amazingly trendy piece.

Suede: Forever 21, $49.90

Suede is a trend you can find in virtually any silhouette. A jacket, skirt, booties, dress- the possibilities are endless! This burgundy zippered-front sheath dress is just one daring way to rock suede.

Cool Outerwear: Boundaries are being pushed this season with ways to keep warm. The good news about investing in these trends is they will carry you into the chilly winter months- so give one of these pieces a try!

Duster jackets: Pac Sun, $56.00

Duster jackets are long lined, minimalistic coats that have been spotted all over runways and street style alike. This jacket is essentially the socially acceptable form of wearing your robe in public, so you should probably take advantage of that while it’s in style.

Bomber jackets: Urban Outfitters, $89.00

Bomber jackets give off that effortless “I woke up like this” cool without trying look. These are a great easy piece to throw on with your everyday T-shirt and jeans look.

Oversized blanket scarves: American Eagle Outfitters, $26.96

Remember the hideous knit ponchos that were all the rage in the early 2000s? Well someone reinvented them and they actually got it right this time. Say hello to a wearable blanket. Yup- a warm, fleecy blanket that’s considered fashionable. Thank me later.

Edgy Footwear: There has been some notable styles making repeat appearances in street style this season: androgynous booties, trainers, and lace-up flats.

Chelsea Booties: ASOS, $72.00

These will be your go-to booties this season. Chelsea boots aren’t over the top girly, so you can really style them either way to go with feminine, minimalistic, or edgy looks. Classic black leather goes with everything, and they will provide an instant edge to your look.

Trainers: Nike, Various Prices

The ‘athleisure’ trend is something we’ve seen for a few seasons, but is really taking full force now. Rocking trainers with outfits you wouldn’t normally wear sneakers is a totally European-chic look right now. The easiest way to wear this look is by keeping things minimalistic. Nike Rosche trainers in a neutral color like black, tan, or olive will be the most wearable.

Lace-up flats: Steve Madden, $69.95

Ballerina-inspired pointed toe flats have made their way from the runway to ready-to-wear. These feminine shoes add a unique detail to any look.

Button-up A-Line skirts: This flattering silhouette will look good on nearly everyone. Button front A-Line skirts are a huge trend this fall, coming in all sorts of materials and colors. Finding one that suits your style shouldn’t be a challenge!

Denim: Topshop, $52.00

The denim skirt is back! This time with a more appropriate length and less distressed rips (sorry, Abercrombie and Hollister circa 2008).

Suede: H&M, $34.99

Hey look, another way to incorporate that ‘70s suede trend into your wardrobe!

Corduroy: Urban Outfitters, $54.00

Corduroy is a great way to add dimension and texture to your outfit in the fall and wintertime.
