Perfecting Brows- Three Tips From Anastasia Beverly Hills Salon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

Makeup is us girls’ best friend for creating and crafting our perfect full face. Makeup is there for us when we want to cover up blemishes, large pores, and/or just to help us get a fantastic look for that party we have going on. Many girls, like myself, have finally perfected our everyday makeup look and evening look. But no matter how perfect my techniques get for covering my large pores, I always struggle with getting my brows to look right all the time or even just like sisters! Fortunately, this week I had the opportunity to go to a Master Class by Anastasia Beverly Hills, also dubbed the Queen of Brows, where I was able to learn some tips on perfecting your brows. Here are three tips on how to perfect your brows anytime, and with some practice all the time!

Learn how to mark your brows with guides

Guides are markers that are made in three parts of your brows. They help set the foundation of the structure your brows will shape in. These guides are made using a straight object (the end of a makeup brush works great) to help to determine the particular placement of your brows. Check out the picture above to see where to mark these guides.

Fill In your brows from the bottom and top first

When you are ready to fill in your brows, tell yourself to wait! You should always create an outline of your brows. This doesn’t mean a literal shape, but that you want to take your brow pencil or brow brush and start working on the top of your eyebrows and the bottom of your brows. By starting there, the product will naturally start filling in the brows itself. And if you need to fill in the brow a little more, you can always take a little more product and lightly stroke it in until your brows look even.

Always start filling the tail of the brow first

The first few strokes of applying your brow product always leave the darkest marks. Because of this you always want to fill at the end of your eyebrows first. The tail is always where you want it to be the darkest because there is less hair in this area. As you get closer to the front of your brows, you use the least amount of product to create a natural brow look. Remember, less color application where hair is abundant!

Hopefully, these tips will help in creating your perfect brow!
