How to Create the Perfect Fall Skincare Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

Fall time is near and it will definitely require some changes in your day to day routine, starting with your skincare routine!

As a licensed esthetician, I emphasize the importance of these five steps because it’s the best way to get your skincare game at 100%.

1. Oil Cleanse

Oil cleansing helps remove the top layer of pollutants, makeup, and surface-level dirt. This product from Farmacy is great!

2. Deep cleanse

This step is best done with a gentle cleanser. It’s important to reduce any stripping of the skin. Clean does not always feel squeaky clean and dry. Your skin can be clean and hydrated at the same time.

3. Exfoliate

Exfoliation can come in different forms, so if you choose a physical exfoliant, the best one in my opinion is the Dermalogica microfoliant.

4. Hydrate

Hydrating products will be absorbed into the skin and its one of the MOST important products you need to have as your first application. This product can be a moisturizer with hydrating ingredients, but using a potent serum is better for absorption! Take a look at Inkeys Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum!

5. Moisturize

Moisturizing is done best by applying a light layer of facial oil (make sure to only apply facial oil, as others can be comedogenic). Versed has a beautifully formulated moisturizer that is also on a budget!

This is my senior year of college and I'm a Public Relations major with a Creative Writing outside concentration. I was born and raised in So-Cal and love it so much I couldn't go too far. As much as South California is my home, I adore traveling and learning about other cultures. A Disney fan to the core you can find me watching any of their movies, or breaking my bank account at Disneyland, and if not I'll probably be reading, writing, or enjoying the Malibu climate.
