New York is a city with an array of museums to visit. Each of them, however, are guaranteed to take more than an entire day to fully admire. That’s why my friends and I decided to take a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, also known as the MET, and the famous steps where Blair Waldorf (of Gossip Girl) would eat lunch and gossip with friends. Why the MET in particular? Alongside the Guggenheim and MoMA, this museum is definitely on everyone’s bucket list. I had to of course cross this location off for myself!
BTW! Students pay $12 for admission…talk about a discount! Once you receive your sticker, you’re ready to experience every exhibition the MET has to offer.

Upon entering each exhibition, you have the ability to travel vicariously through the art just by admiring it.
As soon as you enter, you’re embraced by warm lighting gleaming from the ceiling. You’re also greeted by a few structures to the right of the entrance anticipating your arrival. Inside, you will find art by Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso, to more contemporary artists like that of David Hockney, and William Eggleston.
From canvas pieces, photography, stone sculptures, ceramics, and even tapestry, the MET’s exhibitions will leave you in absolute awe!

Need a lunch break? There are five dining areas that cater to the public year round. Unlike the Roof Garden Bar only open May through October, these cafes are open to your nearest convenience, (since the MET is huge), if you’d like to experience their variety in cuisine while you enjoy your visit!

This is definitely one of my favorite places to “Zen-out” for the evening! The MET is a magical experience for many of its visitors, like me, who find the immersive experience to be a local gem. Don’t forget to cross it off your bucket list (soon)!
