Demi Moore Barnes & Noble Book Signing Event

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pace chapter.

On September 24, 2019, Barnes & Noble Union Square hosted a book signing for Demi Moore’s memoir, “Inside Out”.

I had never been to a book signing before this one, but I knew  I had one goal; to know what happened between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. By the time I arrived, plenty of  Moore fanatics were already there. I was greeted by a young volunteer who thanked me for coming as she gave me a wristband and an unsigned copy of the memoir. I walked past her, trying to find a place to sit. I wanted to be in the center front but those seats were already filled or reserved. A few minutes later, I found a place to sit. It was a little far back but had a great view of the stage.

After everyone took their seats, Moore was escorted into the building. She wore a very NYC autumn look; a grey and black plaid blouse and pants styled with a chunky black belt. After making her way to the stage, the host came up to thank everyone for being at the event and introduced Demi Moore to the crowd. When she came up on stage, Moore shared about her past marriage with Bruce Willis and her relationship with her three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. Still, she couldn’t give too much away- saying that she didn’t want to spoil the book. Moore also mentioned that when writing, she made sure to ask her daughters if they were alright with what she was sharing. As much as she wanted to world to read about her life, she was still a protective mother. Moore explained that there were parts about Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah’s childhood that she wanted to keep private.

Hearing her speak about her new book only made me more eager to read it- so much so that I did just that on my commute home. It became hard to put the book down as I read more about her past and how she took that to make a better future for not just herself, but her daughters too. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book discusses sensitive topics such as substance abuse, relationships and sexual assault.
