I bought the BEAUTURAL steamer my Junior year after going through two years with wrinkly clothes. Storing clothes under our beds and in drawers is efficient for space, but it lends itself to endless amounts of wrinkles. There’s nothing worse than grabbing your planned outfit for the day and realizing it’s wrinkled beyond saving. You think to yourself I’ll just put it on. Once I go outside it’ll be fine. Does that ever work? Not in my experience. Having a portable steamer that you can quickly use in the morning completely alleviates this issue. This steamer is easy to use, easy to store, and will have you looking more put together in minutes. No one will even suspect that your shirt was once a crumpled up ball under your bed!
As a girl with lots of shoes, figuring out how to store them in my dorm is always a struggle. I’ve tried storing them under my bed, but then they’re not easily accessible. I bought a plastic shoe tower, but it completely collapsed by the end of the year. Luckily, this SONGMICS shoe rack was an easy and affordable solution. It’s extremely slim and lightweight, so I was able to fit it in the car for move-in with no issues. When we got to my dorm, my mom was able to construct it easily with the included instructions. I was shocked that it can hold 20 pairs of shoes and remain completely sturdy. On top of all this, it’s only $20!
I bought this book light over the summer when I started reading before bed as part of my one-book-a-month challenge. I’ve tried other reading lights and found them finicky and too bright. However, this light from Glocusent has fit snugly in four of my books and has multiple brightness settings. The amber light setting is my favorite because it feels warm and cozy while reading in bed and is comfortable for my sensitive eyes. This book light is perfect if you like to read in bed at night but have sleeping roommates.
I love wearing 100% cotton clothing, but it makes laundry day a hassle. Before finding this drying rack, I was always afraid of shrinking my favorite pieces and had nowhere to line-dry wet clothes in my dorm. This drying rack is perfect for a small dorm or apartment because it’s completely collapsible and can easily slide under your bed or lean against a wall. On laundry day, simply set up your drying rack and rest assured that your delicates will dry safely.
I would have never thought a 6.7 ounce water bottle would be practical, but this Hydroflask proved me wrong. I found it at Urban Outfitters and thought it would be nice to carry in my school bag instead of lugging my big water bottle to every class. It fits perfectly in the inside pocket of my bag without weighing it down. It’s also super cute and gets lots of compliments!
I like to pride myself on my organizational skills, and I’ve been using Southworth planners for the past four years. My favorite thing about them is that the paper is thick cardstock. Some planners have very thin paper that can’t handle pens or highlighters. Southworth always has cute designs, and offers a smaller and larger version of its monthly planner. I also like that each month has a spread dedicated to checking in and setting goals for the upcoming month. I’ve found their planners perfect for keeping track of my homework assignments.
Last year I dealt with the worst shoulder and neck pain from constantly being on my laptop. My boyfriend was kind enough to send this Comfytemp heating pad to my dorm. This has become one of my favorite self-care items and I even bring it with me to my weekend mock trial competitions to use in the hotel. It’s very easy to roll up and store anywhere in your dorm or pack in a suitcase. It simply buttons around the front of your chest and applies heat directly to your neck, shoulders, and upper back. It features nine heat settings and automatic shut-off. Your tech neck will thank you!
