7 Study Spots On And Near Campus To Help You Romanticize Your Schoolwork

As classes start back up and the workload increases, it can be nice to have a third space either on or near campus to get some work done. Not to mention, it makes you feel a lot fancier to do work in an aesthetic spot rather than at your desk. So, whether it is between classes or just a day off where you need to lock in, here are seven nice study spots to get work done. 

  1. 787 Coffee

While this spot is a bit farther from campus, near the Staten Island Ferry, it is a super cute location with free Wi-Fi to go and get some work done. The best part about this coffee shop is that the iced drinks come in pouches which make them super fun to drink. Their coffee is imported from a farm in Puerto Rico and they have snacks like quesitos and cookies.

  1. The Steps at 15 Beekman

If you have been to the lobby of 15 Beekman around 7 p.m., you are likely to see me on the steps underneath the stairs, either working on my computer or hanging out with my friends. This spot is located conveniently near the Starbucks, the market, and the dining hall and it has outlets all around. While this is a good place to study and do homework, I also enjoy people-watching out of the window and talking with my friends at this spot. There is also now an area on the stairs leading to the ground floor of 1 Pace Plaza East that has similar steps where people can sit.

  1. Conwell Coffee Hall 

Located on Hanover Street (off Wall Street), this bank-turned-coffee-shop always makes me feel luxurious and lets me romanticize my studying. If you can find a seat, this gorgeous space is an amazing spot to study, have a coffee, and get lunch if you’re hungry. I recommend the croissant grilled cheese and tomato soup, as well as the iced vanilla latte.  

  1. Anna’s Courtyard

This brand-new outdoor space located between the east and west sides of 1 Pace Plaza is a beautiful new spot to study and spend time at. On the first day of school, I was able to experience this new space with my friends to eat lunch, and it was lovely, especially since the weather was nice. So, if you have a short time between classes where you want to stay on campus to study, this is a perfect place to go on a nice day. 

  1. Kinship

Located on South Street, this charming spot is located right near the pier and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Complete with pastries, coffees, teas, and refreshers, this is a very nice spot that is great if you want a short walk from campus to a study spot. They also have plenty of cute dogs come by, which allows for a nice little break in studying.

  1. Seaport/Pier 17

If it’s nice outside, sitting on the pier, overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, is the perfect place to study and get some work done. Seaport actually has free Wi-Fi and bathrooms, which makes it a super convenient place to use your computer while also getting some outside time. I savor this area during the warmer months because it is so beautiful and we don’t get to spend as much time there once the weather gets cold. It’s also the perfect place to sit and read. 

  1. Remi Flower and Coffee

This coffee shop might just be my favorite place ever to study and do homework at. Located conveniently on William Street, this combination coffee and flower shop is an adorable place to get work done. I have spent hours on end here, especially during finals week. They have a huge variety of food and drinks, and lots of seating, so it’s an easy place to lock in. I highly recommend this spot!

So, whether you choose to spend your study time on or off campus, I hope these spots can help make studying more aesthetic and fun, and help you to romanticize your work. Just as much as it is important to study in college, it’s also important to have fun and utilize nearby spaces. These are just a few of many nice spots throughout the city to get some work done.
