There are only 15 days until November 6th aka election day! I truly believe that voting is not just a right, it’s a sacred responsibility. There are no more influential personal civic activities than voting. Yes, does take a few minutes from your busy Tuesday, but voting has an impact for years to come. In our history, many people struggled, suffered, fought, and even died for today’s American’s to have the right to vote. They wanted their voices heard. So why are we afraid to do the same? Today, I am even more motivated to have my voice heard through the polls.

Even though election day is not a national holiday, Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 is going to be a day that will change history! Be part of making history because every indicator points to the prospect that the 2018 Mid-term Election will have an impact for years/decades to come. Every vote is even more important. Being a participant in affecting history gives each of us a sense of pride in participation and the power to touch the future.

It’s also important for American citizens to know that their vote and every vote counts. An election might be decided by a single vote and history would be changed because a person got that one vote! For example, in 1845, Texas might not have become part of the United States, if one U.S. Senator had voted differently. The vote in the U.S. Senate was 27-25 to invite Texas to become a state. If it had been a tie, Texas would not have been asked to become part of the United States.

One of the major reasons why I vote is because of the children. American citizens can’t vote until the age of 18-years-old. I use my political voice for children by voting on their behalf. I want to make the world a better place not only for me but for them.

So please, go vote on Tuesday, November 6th 2018! If you still need more reasoning on why you should vote. Watch this video from College Humor
