Valentine’s Day is all about spreading love, whether you are single or taken. Making someone feel loved can be a very special feeling. People can tend to feel lonely this holiday, especially if they have just been through a heartbreak. So, reach out to those important people in your lives and just let them know how much you love them. Also, always remember the importance of self-love.

We as individuals can be very tough on ourselves sometimes, but we shouldn’t. We should learn more on how to love yourself. No, I’m not trying to tell you to be absolutely self-centered, but treat yourself once in awhile. Do it this Friday actually! Pamper yourself or go shopping. Buy something for yourself, without the intention of trying to impress others.

Make this Valentine’s Day all about you and the people you love. Invite them to go out with you whether it’s for dinner or just to watch a movie at home together. It always puts a smile on my face whenever I receive an unexpected text message from a friend, knowing that they are thinking about me. Spontaneous plans are always my favorite and it can turn out to be the best time!

Do whatever makes you feel happy. It can even just be a typical Friday for you, it does not have to be a special day. Don’t worry about how others are spending the day, we can’t set the same expectations as someone else. Just remember, you can’t truly love someone without loving yourself first. Happy Valentine’s Day!
