Top Gifts for Collegiettes This Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oxy chapter.

It’s that time of year again! Post-Thanksgiving, the department stores are full of tinsel, TV ads are bursting with festivity, and the friends and family of collegiettes™ everywhere start to panic about what to get their favorite college girls. The holidays can be a stressful time, so I’m here to help! Read on to see what’s on my wishlist this year. I wouldn’t mind finding those cute boys under my tree!

Classic Lilly Pulitzer dress

It’s hard to go wrong with a classic Lilly. No matter what kind of college girl you are, you’ll find a use for these dresses, designed with adorable cuts in the whimsical prints that Lilly Pulitzer is famous for. Perfect for weddings, graduations, sorority brunches, tailgates, and just about anything else you need a cute dress for (read: everything!). Cassie dress, $98 at Lilly Pulitzer.

iPad 2

The newest “it” gadget, the iPad 2 is super-fast and super-light, perfect for busy collegiettes™ on the go. The best part? All the adorable iPad cases that you can pick for your new toy. Collegiette™ favorites Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture, Tory Burch, and Vera Bradley all carry iPad cases to match your school bag so you never have to clash. iPad 2, starts at $499 at Apple.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck fragrance

Most college girls have a strong love-hate relationship with Taylor (we’re on a first-name basis). Love, because she’s genuinely sweet and humble, and she has the best collection of sequined dresses on the planet. Hate, because her songs make you feel like you need a boyfriend. Now you can be a part of her fairytale world, where Prince Charming is real (even though he and his white horse are running behind schedule). Just pick up a bottle of Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck, which comes with a sweet charm bracelet. 3.4oz bottle, $59.59 at Sephora.

Amazon Prime membership

Amazon Prime is a must-have for all collegiettes™. A membership comes with lots of free movies and television shows, and discounted membership pricing, but the best part is the free two-day shipping. Whether you need textbooks in a hurry, or a theme party was announced on Wednesday and you have to scramble to get an outfit together, Prime shipping has your back. I’m so addicted to getting two-day shipping on everything I buy online that suddenly standard shipping seems unacceptable.
Student membership, $40 from Amazon.

Lululemon Scuba Hoodie

For the athletic girl on your list, the Lululemon Scuba hoodie is a must-have. The thick cotton fleece is super-warm and it comes with all sorts of features specially designed for an active girl. The high collar keeps your neck warm, and the side panels are ribbed for a perfect fit. There’s even thumb holes, so you don’t have to wrestle with your layers to get everything lying flat! We first loved dip-dye on the tips of hair and hippie t-shirts, and dip-dye gets an update on the Scuba jacket. The black and purple is very of-the-moment without being over-the-top, perfect for a trip to the gym or a hike with the family.
Scuba hoodie *dip dye Jacket, $128 from Lululemon Athletica.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the game of the holiday season. Any FPS (first-person shooter, for you non-gamers out there) loving collegiette™ will be ecstatic to find this under her tree. Modern Warfare 3 picks up where Modern Warfare 2 left off, with your American heroes on the run after assassinating a rogue Lieutenant General. With various gameplay modes and a thrilling campaign storyline, Modern Warfare 3 is sure to please even the most casual gamer girl. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, $59.99 at Amazon.
