Couples Special! Maggie Nelson ’14 and John Hansbrough ’12

Major: Economics!
 
Usually seen: At the gym.
 
Campus Activities: Maggie:  Alpha Lambda Phi Alpha Scholarship Chair, Nanny for a 9 month old. John: Former Tiger football player.

How long have you been together?
One year and five months.
 
Why is your SO a campus cutie?
Maggie: Because he is my best friend and a great boyfriend.
John: Because she watches all my stupid movies and will eat almost anything with me.
 
Who are your celebrity crushes?
Maggie: Miles Austin on Dallas Cowboys.
John: Olivia Wilde.
 
How did you get together?
I (Maggie) got thrown into John at Toga by my best friend (intentionally?).  Then we ended up meeting again before winter break at a Brotel party where we stayed up till five talking about sports teams and watching Modern Family.
 
First thing you noticed about each other:
Maggie: His big shoulders.
John: Her prancing around the track.
 
What would people be surprised to know about you?
We are both the most awkward people on campus and really goofy.
 
What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Making dinner, then having brownies or taco truck… or both.
 
What’s your favorite party theme?
Maggie: Anything I can wear my sailor suit to.
John– Anything she can wear her sailor suit to.
 
What would you bring to a deserted island (other than each other)?
iPhones, running shoes.
 
Who liked whom first?
Maggie: I definitely chased John, my friends joked he was my “celebrity crush” on campus.
 
Favorite memory together?
Walking on the empty beach in Costa Rica at night together.
