It’s that time of year again collegiettes! With the first few weeks of classes already settled in, everything is finally winding down and we can all take that big sigh of relief. Whatever your plans may be this weekend – relaxing at home and hanging with friends or throwing a party to celebrate that you’ve made it through the madness – these five songs are perfect for your weekend.

1)TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME – The 1975

The 1975 are back ladies and gents and they’re better than ever! This song is truly the definition of a bop; it’s lighthearted, upbeat and has echoes of their previous albums. It’s the perfect song for dancing around your house with friends or having a fun night in.

2) Lucky Strike – Troye Sivan

The Australian singer is back after an almost three-year hiatus and he did NOT come to play around, nor disappoint. This track, off of his sophomore album “Bloom,” is definitely a song to blast in the shower, but also perfect for karaoke. (Trust us, it’s great.)

3) Sit Next to Me – Foster the People

One of the more chill tracks on this list, Foster the People have yet another successful single to add to their resume. This is a song that we honestly never get tired of. It’s the perfect blend of upbeat and fun, but also chill at the same time! A definite favorite of ours here at HC Oswego.

4) Black Smoke Rising – Greta Van Fleet

This is one of our favorite bands right now and they’ve been getting a lot of buzz in the music community! Greta Van Fleet, a band made up of four insanely talented young guys, has been getting strong praise for being the “next Led Zeppelin,” with lead vocalist Josh Kiszka’s voice sounding nearly identical to Robert Plant. This song is a perfect jam for that Friday mood.

5) goodnight n go – Ariana Grande

All hail queen Ari, amirite? This track on Grande’s highly anticipated album “Sweetener,” is actually a cover of Imogen Heap’s song from the early 2000s. Putting her own pop princess spin on it, it’s a great song for a party but also cute enough to listen to in the car, driving along with your bae.

That’s our roundup of the top five songs of the week collegiettes! Put these tracks on this weekend and forget about all the stressors in your life. And remember to take it easy and enjoy yourself! You deserve it.
