Ryan Schultz ’13

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

This week Her Campus Oswego shines the Campus Cutie spotlight on Ryan Schultz, a sophomore with big dreams to make it on the big screen…sort of. Get to know this adventurous guy and you just might snag the starring role in his story!

Age: 20

Hometown: Greene, NY

Major(s) and why: I have a double major in broadcasting and graphic design. Why?  I love making videos! Camera work and video editing is my favorite; I’d love to work on movies someday or make TV commercials on the national level.

Expected graduation year: 2013

Relationship status: Single

Involvement on campus: I’m an employee at the fitness centers, a teacher’s assistant, I play sports through intramurals and I am a part of WTOP.

Which three words describe you best? Outgoing, kind and funny.

What person in your life is most important to you and why? I’d have to say my older sister.  She lives down south now, but we’re best friends.

What characteristics do you look for in a girl? Honest, good sense of humor, spontaneous, sensitive but can still have a good laugh.

Idea of a perfect date: Something active.  I’d love to pack a surprise picnic lunch and take a girl kayaking.

Random fact about you: I played the Beast in “Beauty and the Beast” my senior year of high school.

What’s your biggest goal in life? To leave behind a legacy.

Favorite TV show/Movie: For a TV show, it’s a tie between “Dexter” and “The Office.”   Movie: The Shawshank Redemption, hands down.

Hidden talent: Singing. I can belt out a mean “When You Say You Love Me” by Josh Groban.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? LA? NYC? Who knows? Just as long as I’m doing what I love, I’ll be happy.  Maybe I’ll even have a family by then!

Samantha Shelton is a senior at SUNY Oswego with a dual major in journalism and creative writing. Hailing from a super small town that doesn't even have a stop light, Samantha enjoys soccer, spinning and trying any flavor of frozen yogurt imaginable! She has been the Managing Editor of her student newspaper, The Oswegonian, and completed the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) summer internship program in 2010 at FITNESS magazine. Samantha recently launched Ed2010 at Oswego State, a national networking organization that helps students break into the magazine industry. These days, (when she’s not running from class to class) you can find Samantha at the campus fitness centers, where she works as the PR student manager and a personal trainer; working with Colleges Against Cancer to help find a cure; or in a comfy cafe chair reading her latest pile of magazines.
