You may have seen Nic Markham walking around, filming, or hanging around the creative writing wing, trying to come up with a new story idea. Nic, a December graduate, spent plenty of time working hard during his time at Oswego.
While in college, Nic was a cinema screens studies major, with a minor in creative writing. He spent a lot of his time making films for class, using sites on- and off-campus and casting students, as well as his friends, to be actors.
When making films, he tries to do comedies. “I like to make people laugh.”
Although he currently has a job at McDonald’s, Nic doesn’t plan on working there forever. “I mostly want to write, but I wouldn’t mind editing on the side,” he says about a future career. He has already written two scripts: one about a beaver and another about a B movie star. He has also written several short stories. “As long as I’m writing, I’ll be happy.”
During his down time, the Williamson, NY native likes to hang out with friends, watch movies and eat pizza. He says that being out of college is “different.” “I have a lot of free time, so I watch a lot of Netflix!”
