This past week is what “typical Oswego weather” is like. Beautiful, sunny, hot for a couple of days and rainy and freezing the next day. This is why students should learn how to survive the typical Oswego weather week.

The temperature outside does not match the temperature inside.

Make sure to dress in layers because you’ll never know what the temperature will be like inside. Most buildings have air-conditioning (with the exception of Mahar) so dress to prepare for the cold while in class. Grab a light jacket before you head out the door.

Think twice about rain boots.

It may be raining when you head to class in the morning, but chances are, the rain will stop and the sun will come out. This is not always the case. Make sure to check the weather before class. The weather is not always right, though, so you may have to wear your rain boots in the sun. It has happened many times to Oswego students.

Umbrellas are not your friends.

Because of the high wind in Oswego, umbrellas usually don’t help. They become more of a hassle. Walking to class in the rain will become more of a pain if your umbrella is dragging you through the path by Seneca.

This is just the weather during the summer and fall. Wait until winter rolls around.

I'm a junior. I like to read, watch T.V. and sleep. Aaaand that's it.
