In a world full of food choices, everyone’s taste palette is different. For our new collaboration, we have decided to delve into our member’s food choices. Enjoy this article and maybe get some ideas for new food combinations to try.

April – My favorite weird combination of food, although not too crazy, is eggs with ketchup. I feel like it’s really hit or miss and most people either REALLY love it or REALLY hate it. I also enjoy eating plain bread that’s been rolled up into a ball. Although it’s not technically a food combination, it is a weird food habit I do that most people usually always look at me strangely for.

Jasmine – My favorite weird food combination is my personal take on sweet and salty. For this combination, you would need Wheat Thins and Cookie Butter from Trader Joe’s. Relax and chill and watch your favorite show or movie while dipping these savory crackers in a sweet delight.

Shanae – My favorite weird food combination is apple slices and salt. Growing up, I thought this was a normal combination because my mom would pair fruits with a lot of things, such as grapes and cheese or bananas and peanut butter. When I started to eat it around others, people told me that they never even tried it before. It’s a great mix of sweet/sour and salty!

Tess – I think my favorite weird food combination would have to be honey and chicken tenders, although I’m not too sure that’s considered weird! I love the way the sweet honey and typically-savory chicken mix. It also holds a sentimental place in my heart, as my father was the one who showed me the combination in the first place. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s curious about it :)

Winnie – My weird food combination is olive oil and soy sauce with vanilla ice cream. It sounds weird but the creaminess with the saltiness of the soy sauce and the smoothness of the oil works so well together. Definitely, you would need super high-quality olive oil to eat with the ice cream!

Fira (Esfir) – I think that my favorite food combination is probably vanilla yogurt with peanut butter. The first time I tried it was during my second semester in Oswego because as usual breakfast was so good that I didn’t have anything to it besides yogurt and peanut butter. But I was surprised how good it was since the saltiness of peanut butter makes yogurt taste less plain.

Katy – My favorite weird food combination would have to be Doritos and peanut butter. I have been eating this since I was a kid and it is always so good. Especially Doritos on a peanut butter sandwich. Another good, but maybe a little odd, Dorito combination is Doritos and Heluva Good French Onion Dip.

Jileiny – My favorite weird food combination would be dipping my sandwich in my hot chocolate. Yes, my sandwich like ham, cheese, and all that good stuff. No, I don’t drench it in hot chocolate, just a little dip. I don’t know how or when this started but it’s a childhood favorite while I waited a long day at the hair salon for my mom and grandma. My biggest saying is don’t knock it till you try it.

Donae – My favorite weird food combination may be a pickled egg, hot sausage, and nacho cheese sunflower seeds. This is basically a childhood snack in DC that you’ll get from the Ice Cream Truck or just a regular corner store. Some people add hot sauce or vinegar to it but it’s good without. Another thing I love that may be weird is peanut butter toast with banana slices. Very good! You can eat it during breakfast or alone as a snack.

Emily – I don’t have any weird food combinations personally, however for as long as I can remember my grandpa has made what he refers to as the combination sandwich. This consists of bread, peanut butter, jelly, cheese, pickles, and last but not least, ham. Sometimes chips on the side but I’m not crazy like that.

Ellen – My weird food combination is more so a weird food practice. I like to microwave my cereal once I’ve put the milk in it (I know just hear me out) because I like it to be warm. I try to leave a little bit of cereal uncovered by the milk so it’s the perfect ratio between warm, soggy, and crunchy. It’s weird but I’ve done it since I was a kid so I can’t stop O_O.

Amanda – I have many weird food combinations, but my favorites are dipping Flamin Hot Cheetos in cream cheese and stuffing Hot Cheetos in a pickle. It’s weird to some but not as weird to others. All I know is that it’s delicious (:

Ava – My favorite food combination is chicken and waffles with maple syrup. I first tried this combination this year because my friend suggested it, and it was really good! I know that it is more popular in some places than others, and in my hometown, I had never heard of it before. I am usually a picky eater, so this combo was adventurous for me.

Adriana – I think my favorite weird food combo would be cream cheese with wheat thins. I know that sounds gross to some who HATE cream cheese, but it’s been my favorite spread since I was a kid! So I basically pair it with everything.

Bailey – My favorite weird food combination is adding chips inside any sandwich. It makes the sandwich a lot more enjoyable to eat and adds a nice crunchiness.

Daniela – My favorite weird food combination would be beans on a tortilla with cheese. I don’t think this counts though because I could eat the beans on its own, but only my mom’s beans.

Denise – My favorite weird combination would be salad/ranch on pizza. It makes sense to eat the salad on the side but the salad on top makes the pizza taste 100000 times better. I started doing this in elementary school when we had school lunch. It never misses.

Adrienne – A weird food combination I enjoy is hot sauce on popcorn. It sounds strange, but achieving the perfect ratio (not lacking flavor, but also not soggy,) makes for a very enjoyable movie night snack. Then again, I’ve eaten it so much I no longer find it spicy. If you prefer milder foods, maybe stick to the classic popcorn toppings.

Kaitlyn – My favorite weird food combination is ketchup on my mac and cheese. It’s probably a caribbean thing because my whole family does it but it’s really good and adds a little depth to the mac.

Jazmyne – I’m a pretty picky eater but one thing that I will eat on more than one occasion is mayo toast. Not even made into a sandwich, just toasted bread smeared with mayo instead of butter or cream cheese. This is probably not the weirdest food combination out there, but I know some people aren’t prone to mayo. It’s definitely a must try in my opinion.
