As we adjust to being back at college here are some of my tips for creating healthy habits for this fall semester!

  1. Google Calendar

I live religiously off of Google Calendar. I’m not sure when I discovered it, but ever since I did I’ve been using it everyday. Google Calendar allows you to add any event or class going on and you can section it off into different categories and colors! For example, I have my Google Calendar set up with my class schedule, which is baby pink, my work schedule, which is pink, and my Her Campus events and school events in dark pink. I also add whenever I have a quiz or assignment due.

  1. Setting a Good Sleeping Schedule

Having a good sleeping schedule will save you! Not only will it help you develop a healthier lifestyle getting the right amount of sleep, but it’ll also ensure you won’t wake up feeling tired and not ready to start the day. This is a habit I need to do myself because I have a bad habit of sleeping late and not wanting to wake up early when I should.

  1. Scheduling Time to Eat

Making sure you eat three times a day in college is such a struggle. From being busy with class, work, or other activities, to the dining hall having strict hours that they’re only open until. Even so, sometimes the dining hall serves food you may not even want to eat so you have to make sure you check your school’s dining hall menu in advance so you can prepare your other meal options beforehand.

  1. Setting Homework Time/Study Time

I personally feel like after classes and around the night time is the best time to do homework and catch up on studying since you’re done with classes. Or you can check your Google Calendar and see when you have time to do homework and study. I try to set at least an hour each weekday evening catching up on school work or Her Campus work that way during the weekend I can fully relax and not worry about an assignment due.

  1. Have Some “You Time”

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by school, work, balancing a social life and other activities so make sure you have some you time! Having some time to just relax, scroll on TikTok/YouTube, watch a movie or show, and whatever other hobbies you have is a great way to ground you and keep a healthy lifestyle. So make sure you prioritize yourself sometimes!

I’ll be practicing these habits myself and hope for an amazing semester!
