Remember when one our favorite parts of Thanksgiving was watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving? Even as college students, it is still one of our favorite things. We’ve seen it countless times, but it brings back good memories.

The cartoon first premiered on November 20, 1973 on CBS and won an Emmy the year after. The special was created and written by Charles M. Schulz.

The story shows Pepperming Patty inviting herself to Charlie Brown’s house for Thanksgiving. Charlie and Sally were proginally going to go to their grandmother’s for Thanksgiving and Linus suggests that Charlie have two Thanksgiving feasts- one for his friends and one at his grandmothers. Charlie only knows how to make cereal and toast, so the meal isn’t have his firends expected. Peppermint Patty is outraged and begins yelling at Charlie. Marcie reminds her that she invited herself to Charlie’s house for Thanksgiving. Charlie explains his situation to his grandmother and she suggests he bring his friends to her house for a Thanksgiving meal. His friends cheer and head off to eat.

If you’ve never watched this classic cartoon before, ABC shows it around Thanksgiving, so keep an eye out!
