The spooky season brings out the creativity in those who celebrate. Some may even plan for the day to show out in their costume all year. Or, at least that’s what it seems like because celebrities have nailed them this year. Ranging from couples to trios, the costumes have accurately replicated the original characters. Here are some celebrities from this year that I believe did what needed to be done.
1. Chloe Bailey as Storm and Lola Bunny
Making a bold statement with her presentation as Storm, in Bailey’s Instagram photos she can be seen surrounded by lightning bolts. Dressed in a black one-piece, boots, a cloth wrapped around her wrists, and a bold headpiece. As Storm Baily effectively embodies the same energy and power of the character.
Not only did Chloe Bailey dress up as Storm, but she also dressed as Lola Bunny. This character is from the well-known movie ‘Space Jam’. Implementing a bang to her locs, Bailey is able to look almost identical to the character. Even including small details such as the cute small nose.
2. Hailey Bailey and DDG as Jake Sully and Neytiri
Similar to her sister, Hailey Bailey and her boyfriend DDG successfully dressed up as characters from ‘Avatar’. With dark blue airbrushed lines along their bodies, the two also had a lighter shade of blue underneath. Both also included distinctive ears and wore light green contacts.
3. Latto as Corpse Bride
Along with many other celebrities this year, Latto utilized body paint to cover herself blue. Wearing a white wedding dress that’s gracefully draped along the ground, Latto does not hesitate to get into character. Within the photos of her in this costume, she can be seen making dramatic faces emphasizing the eye makeup. Similar, to the original character her eyes stand out because of their large circular shape and the bold white of the eye.
4. Nina Dobrev and Shaun White as Vecna and Max.
For years the series ‘Stranger Things’ has left its mark on its audience. From lasting as number one on Netflix and trending on social media. Dressed in a tracksuit, burgundy wig, and paired with a walkman Shawn White wears blood streaming from his eyes. Nina Dobrev wore a full-body costume with a mask over her head offering full coverage. She also wore long red nails replicating Vecna’s claws.
5. Bella Thorne as Kim Possible
“Call me, beep me if ya. Wanna reach me.” Well, that’s just what Bella did this Halloween. Dressed in olive cargo pants, boots, a black shirt, and brown fanny pack Thorne posted photos on her Instagram. To fully embody the character, she even includes a photoshopped version of her sidekick Rufus.
6. Heidi Klum
Now, this costume stood out to me and was a surprise. This Halloween Heidi dressed as a long worm and didn’t hesitate to play the role. While walking the red carpet she could even be seen laying down on the ground, mimicking the animal. Klum did not leave out the detailed ridges of a worm and the costume appeared to have some texture.
7. Ciara and Sienna Wilson
In this cute costume, Ciara and her daughter pay homage to Serena and Venus Williams. Recreating the “Got Milk” campaign that featured the sisters with a milk mustache and box braids filled with white beads.
8. Lilli Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch, and Camila Mendes
Taking on the Halloween classic, ‘Hocus Pocus’ this trio dressed in some stylish costumes. Also, the group pays attention to the hair and makeup of the characters.
After seeing this year’s costume I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with next year!
