All The Music You Missed Last Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

Last week, a ton of artists released new music. From a nostalgia-fueled boy band comeback to the return of Solange, here’s a compiled list of all the recent music you might have missed out on:

“Sucker” – Jonas Brothers

If you haven’t heard about this song, there’s a good chance you’ve been living under a rock — either that or you’re a mature adult that doesn’t really care about reliving the golden Disney Channel days. After teasing a reunion for the past few months, everyone’s favorite boy band has finally returned with a new single entitled “Sucker.” Complete with a music video and the promise of a promotional run, it seems as though the Jonas Brothers are here to stay… thank God.

“Superstar” – MARINA

Remember back in high school when all the Tumblr girls drew hearts on their faces and wouldn’t stop quoting Marina and the Diamonds? Well, good news, because Marina is officially back; this time with a new stage name. “Superstar” is MARINA’s second single since the beginning of the year, with its predecessor entitled “Handmade Heaven.” Despite having a new name and aesthetic, MARINA’s voice is just as silky and gorgeous as ever, and we couldn’t be more excited for this era of music.

When I Get Home – Solange

After ruining our lives with her 2016 album A Seat at the Table, Solange has returned.. When I Get Home consists of 19 beautiful tracks with artists including Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Playboi Carti, and Pharrell all credited on the record. All I can say is thank you, Solange, for blessing us with your voice.

Rap Or Go To The League – 2 Chainz

Perhaps one of the most anticipated rap albums of 2019 thus far, 2 Chainz is back with his monster album, Rap Or Go To The League. Features include Chance the Rapper, Kodak Black, Lil Wayne, E-40, Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, Ty Dolla $ign, Young Thug, and Marsha Ambrosius. “Rule the World (feat. Ariana Grande)” and “Momma I Hit A Lick (feat. Kendrick Lamar)” are definitely the highlights of this album.

Weezer (Black Album) – Weezer

In a string of new music released by alt-rock veteran Weezer, the band’s new album is 10 tracks long. The weirdest part of this release is that the band created their own island in “Fortnite” in an effort to promote Black Album… so, that’s that.
