This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

Now that the weather is warming up, it’s time to start getting risky with your fashion choices!  Be ready for a bright spring/summer season because neon is taking over the fashion world—and bringing back visions of the 80’s with it.  This fantastic fashion trend is surely coming back this spring/summer season, so make sure you’re one of the first to rock it!

Although these neon pieces are so bright they hurt your eyes (from their awesomeness, of course), you are sure to stand out while wearing these fun, funky pieces.  From red carpet gowns to casual beach bathing suits, neon is accessible in almost every category of apparel and accessories.  This season is not just about a touch of color… it’s a punch!  Vibrant hues of blue, pink, yellow, green, orange and purple are sure to add that desired pop of color to every outfit.

If you want to stay on the safe side with this trend, try pairing neon pieces with neutral ones.  If neon is not really your thing, there are a wide variety of accessories from electric blue watches to highlighter yellow purses that are sure to spice up any outfit.  But remember: there is nothing wrong with making a glowing statement while wearing neon on neon.  Mixing this trend with the color-block trend is sure to make you stand out during this spring/summer.  So make sure to look on the bright side this season and sport those florescent pieces!
