Zoe’s Style Blog: Fall into Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

It’s that time of year when, in the midst of a transition, we aren’t sure whether we should break out our parkas, hats and gloves or not. Living in Ohio, the winter season gets pretty cold—especially when you have to walk 20 minutes to get to your 8:00 AM class. To dress appropriately for the season, there are so many awesome pieces that make every outfit fashionable, yet sensible for these cold fall months.

If you haven’t bought one yet, I highly consider purchasing a parka. Parkas are very versatile winter pieces that keep you warm and looking good! The varieties of parkas are endless; from the puffy down coats to the thinner military inspired jacket, these coats can warm up any ensemble!

Winter also means that it’s time to brush the dust off your boots and bring out your favorite sweaters. I mean, come on … what kind of girl doesn’t like boots and sweaters? A choice I always have trouble making is deciding what shoes to wear. As much as we love them, you can’t wear boots every day in the winter. Try something new. When getting ready for the weekend, put on a pair of chunky, closed, lace-up heals, or some awesome sneaker wedges. These shoes add the perfect touch of style and chicness to go out on chilly fall nights.

When it comes to accessories, winter has the best. Dress every outfit up or down with a funky patterned scarf or an adorable winter hat. Don’t get lazy this winter; these fun and fresh transitional pieces will definitely make you look fashionable during these cold, pre-winter months.
